Shelly Brown of Bangor is an avid nature photographer, and over the past few years, she has sent along some stunning photos.
I’ve come to look forward to Brown’s periodic emails, and never know what I’m going to find.
Back in mid-March, an obviously frustrated Brown sent some shots of a piebald deer — often incorrectly “albino — that she spotted near Burleigh Road in Bangor.
“Although these photos are not the greatest, I wanted to share them with you,” she wrote. “I, regretfully, did not have my good camera with me, so I used my phone. You can bet I will have it next time — and I hope there is a next time.”
Brown’s assessment of the photos was accurate: The deer was so distant, the phone-generated photo didn’t do it justice.
So for the past few weeks, I’ve sat back and waited, hoping that Brown’s “next time” would arrive.
This morning I received another email from Brown with the good news … and these photos.
“I was SO lucky to just now have the opportunity to FINALLY catch the [piebald] deer on camera!” she wrote.
And we’re lucky to be able to share them with you this morning.
