Learn to tie trolling streamer flies in Brewer

If you like to tie flies and you’ve been looking to add some new skills to your repertoire, the Penobscot Fly Fishers have just the class for you.

The club will host a trolling streamer fly class on April 7 at the Penobscot County Conservation Association clubhouse on North Main Street in Brewer. The daylong class begins at 9 a.m. Six patterns will be tied.

Mainers have been using classic trolling streamers for years, and the flies have produced great results for generations of anglers.

Don Corey and Rob Dunnett of the Annika Rod and Fly Pro Staff will conduct the class.

A fee of $30 will be charged ($25 for Penobscot Fly Fishers members). That fee includes all materials and lunch.

Attendees should bring 6/0 (140) or 8/0 (70) black and white thread, and a spool of red thread, and should also provide their own fly tying equipment.

To sign up contact Dunnett at 907-9008 or treasurer@penobscotflyfishers.com, or contact Corey at 843-5634 or don@annikarodandfly.com
