Drift boat trip a huge success

Jasper Walsh of Newburgh joined me on Sunday for the 10th annual BDN Outdoors drift boat trip down the East Outlet of the Kennebec River. More details to follow later this week;

after a busy 15 hour day that began at 5 a.m., when Jasper and I headed to Greenville, and just wrapped upon our return a few minutes ago, all I can say is this: Dan Legere of the Maine Guide Fly Shop outdid himself … again. Legere has teamed up with the BDN on our popular “Win a Drift Boat Trip” contest since its inception, and is the main reason the contest is so popular.

Legere put us on fish all day. Jasper caught fish all day. And me? I was ballast … all day (and I might even have caught a few fish).

For now, I’ll let a couple of photos

speak for themselves. Time to kick back, put up my feet, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Stay tuned for a full report after my casting shoulder stops aching.
