Any-deer permit list to be released this afternoon

For deer hunters hoping to win a coveted any-deer permit for this year, today’s your lucky day … or, it might be.

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will release the names of the 28,770 hunters who will receive those permits. Those hunters will be allowed to shot an antlerless deer in a specified Wildlife Management District. This year, those permits will be split among 15 WMDs.

The DIF&W says it expects to email the list to the BDN around 3 p.m., and we’ll put it up on our site as soon as possible.

So keep your fingers crossed for a permit, and keep checking back!
